Hey, it’s Friday! Are you ready for the weekend?

I know I am! I was searching online for some family-friendly events and found quite a few. Of course, with it being October, there are going to be a ton of fall festivals.

Do you have a favorite fall festival you like to attend?

The two years we’ve been living here, we have yet to attend a Michigan-style fall festival. I’m sure we’re missing out because from what I’ve seen so far, Michigan is beautiful in the fall time!

So I’m making it my personal goal to attend at least one fall festival this October. No excuses! (Unless one of the kids or all of the kids, Lord forbid, get sick. Because that’s happened before where I had all four of my children sick at the same time. Winter 2016. Blah.)

Four Fall Festivals This Weekend

Ferndale Fall Festival 11 A.M. – 3 P.M.

Fraser Fall Festival and Craft/Vendor Show 11 A.M. – 4 P.M.

Highland Fall Festival 12 P.M.

Kensington Metropark Fall Festival (Saturday and Sunday) 11 A.M. – 4 P.M.

Zechariah (at age 16 months) last fall.

If you’re looking for something fun to do with the kids this weekend, I found a few events happening in Detroit and the metro area.

Saturday, October 7th

FREE general admission from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M. at the Michigan Science Center. Perfect timing for the opening of the new exhibit 1001 Inventions: Untold Stories from a Golden Age of Innovation.

Have you seen the videos of babywearing dance class? I found this one of moms dancing to Vanilla Ice while wearing their babes. My husband is amazed that such a thing exists. “Is that even safe?” he asked me. LOL! Well, I found a babywearing dance class in Ferndale hosted by Fans of Babywearing International of Detroit happening TOMORROW at 11:15! #wearallthebabies

Celebrate World Card Making Day at 12 PM the DNR Outdoor Adventure Center. This is on my list of places to visit with my kids.

Did you know there’s a My Little Pony movie coming out soon? My girls are pretty excited about. Barnes & Nobles in Rochester is having a My Little Pony: The Movie Party at 11 A.M.

Whistle Stop Hobby & Toy, Inc. are looking for kiddos to help test several of their new toys (11 A.M.) for their Melissa & Doug Play Day.

The Hello Kitty Cafe Truck will be at Great Lakes Crossing Outlets at 10 A.M. near the AMC Theater.

Sunday, October 8th

Have you ever had brunch at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit? Sounds like a great way to enjoy a Sunday. They even have a DJ! (Starts at 11 A.M.)

This makes me happy to see: a family-friendly Detroit Lions tailgate party at Beacon Park. (10 A.M. – 1 P.M.)

WDET 101.9FM will host Sunday Family Fundays at the Detroit Public Library 1 – 5 P.M. Happy to hear the Detroit Public Library will restore their Sunday services! The Redford and Wilder Branches will also be open on Sunday.

And this one sounds fun: Babywearing Walk at the Detroit Riverwalk (3 – 5 P.M.).

Hope you have a good weekend! xoxo
