Hi! My name is Jennifer, and I am the creator of Good Life Detroit. Thank you for taking the time to read Good Life Detroit. I’m so glad you’re here!
A LITTLE ABOUT ME
I am originally from Middle Tennessee, and I have been living in Metro Detroit with my husband and our five children for three years now. In March 2015, we relocated to Metro Detroit from Tennessee after my husband’s 8-year service in the United States Army.
My background is in communications, education, and writing. In December 2005, I graduated with my bachelor’s degree from Austin Peay State University (APSU) in Clarksville, Tennessee. From 2006-2008 I studied English/Literature at APSU for the English Masters of Arts program. Later, I worked briefly in the education field as an English teacher.
I enjoy working from home in the media/writing field so I can be home with my children. (I also homeschool my kids, and you can read about our homeschool journey on Our Big Family Life— a blog where I write about family life, homeschooling, and motherhood.)
Currently, my husband is a full-time college student studying engineering. After he graduates from college, Travis and I hope to find a house in Detroit and start an urban farm.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, binge-watching my favorite T.V. shows, reading African American and multicultural literature, and photographing Detroit’s city life.
If you’d like to reach out, send me an email or follow me on my social media accounts.
Thank you for being here!
Love & Peace,
