Happy Easter, friends! I hope you had a blessed Easter holiday. We spent our Easter weekend doing a little shopping and enjoying time together as a family. I’m so proud of myself because this Easter I had the kids’ baskets ready ahead of time. I didn’t wait until the last minute to buy Easter goodies like I did last year.
Every year I make Easter baskets for the kids, including our two teenagers. I don’t think you’re ever too old to get an Easter basket. Do you? I imagine once Elijah and Michala are in their 20s, I will still make Easter baskets for them!
For our Easter celebration, we had a big brunch at home. Ever since last month when I met my friend Jaslyn for brunch, I have been obsessed with brunching!

Travis and I made pancakes, scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, turkey sausage, and turkey club sandwiches. I even bought my favorite Mango Simply Orange Juice for our special brunch.
We also took family pictures on Easter Sunday. A couple of weeks ago, Travis bought me a new DSLR camera– a Canon EOS Rebel T6. I love it! It takes great pictures and is perfect for capturing our special family moments. Travis bought it at Best Buy for under $500. It comes with a kit lens 18-55mm. I definitely recommend using this camera if you are a beginner and just want something easy to use for family photos.
For our family photo, I used an AmazonBasics tripod and set the DSLR camera on a 10-second self-timer. The kids found it pretty comical that I was running back and forth to set the timer and then jump in the picture. 🙂
After our family photos, we had a yummy dinner at home. Travis cooked homemade barbecue chicken with buttermilk cornbread. We ended the night by watching our favorite TV shows.
Hope you had a blessed and joyous holiday, too!
