How was your holiday weekend?

Did you do celebrate Easter or do anything fun with your family? We celebrate Holy Week and Easter, but unfortunately, we didn’t make it to church yesterday. We did have plans to attend Easter service. I even woke up early to prepare for it. I had the kids’ outfits ready and everything, but life with five kids kicked in.

Next thing we knew, it was time for service to start and we were running late. We decided it was best to just stay home so Travis made eggs and waffles for brunch. For dinner, he made his delicious homemade chicken fried rice with broccoli. I’ll have to share with you guys his chicken fried rice recipe because it is SO GOOD! He made it on his own without using a recipe he found. Travis loves to create his own recipes and he always does an amazing job.

TV Segment on ABC – WXYZ Detroit

Also, on Saturday, I did a TV segment on ABC WXYZ Detroit. Topcashback.com invited me to share a TV segment about DIY Easter baskets. I’m so thankful for the opportunity. If you’d like to find out more about Topcashback.com, I definitely encourage you to give them a try. They offer free signups for an account. You can earn cash rebates on your online purchases from big-name retailers.

I had a great time at WXYZ Detroit. I was nervous before I went on-air, but once I started talking to Ameera David, I didn’t feel so nervous anymore. Ameera led a great interview and it felt like I was talking to my friend about making Easter baskets! It was my fourth time doing a segment on WXYZ Detroit. I always love visiting WXYZ because the news anchors and staff are always so friendly. It’s also cool getting a behind the scenes look at how the local news is produced.

You can watch the video of the TV segment below (after the photograph).

Easter Family Photos

I didn’t use my DSLR camera for our Easter photos. It was really cold outside and I just wanted to do something really quick and not have to deal with the editing on Lightroom. I used my LG Stylo 3 phablet for our photos and edited them with my VSCO app. Here are a few family photos from Easter Sunday. I’ve also included our outfit details.

Elijah looked very handsome in his Easter outfit. He wore a yellow Ralph Lauren vest with a white dress shirt underneath and Old Navy jeans.

Zhen was so excited to get her Easter basket. She wore an Old Navy dress with a Genuine Kids OshKosh jean jacket and brown riding boots.

This picture of Zechariah makes me smile. He looks so cute holding his Mickey Mouse car and blue bunny. I dressed him in a yellow polo shirt, joggers from Target, a Gap jean jacket, and a pair of Adidas classic shoes.

Michala looked so beautiful in her Easter dress. I bought her this floral print dress and fuschia velvet platform sandals.

Zephaniah is growing so fast! Happy First Easter, baby! Mommy loves you. Travis’ beard is getting longer. I still can’t believe my husband has a beard. When he was in the Army, it sure was a completely different life then!

My Easter outfit was a vintage skirt (with pockets!) and a graphic tee from Walmart. I bought my pink canvas shoes at Target.

Hope you have a blessed week this week!
