It has been a busy week this week. I am so glad it’s Friday, you guys! Between soccer games, homeschool lessons, and everyday life relaxing for the weekend is high on my to-do list.
Our week has not gone according to plan. On Wednesday, my basement sink clogged and flooded half of my basement. Not to mention, last week’s rain also flooded the other half of my basement. So we basically had two large pools of water coming from both sides of the basement.
Our stored furniture and laundry bags were soaked with water! I had a few paintings also get ruined. It was just a nightmare. Thankfully, the maintenance crew came and fixed the problem.
Other challenges this week included my older daughter being sick, the baby creating his beautiful art in MARKER on the walls, and not having enough time for grocery shopping. We’ve just been so busy that we had to shop for dinner almost nightly. It makes it a little inconvenient when you’d much rather relax at home in the evenings.
On the bright side, it was fun creating last minute meals. My husband whipped up a homemade Manadrin Orange Chicken meal. Future recipe post on this delicious meal coming soon!
Another highlight to our busy week was visiting Bruegger’s Bagels. My kids LOVE bagels! We buy two packs of bagels a week because they loved eating them for breakfast and snack. Bruegger’s Bagels was a perfect place to grab a quick snack before heading home.
French Toast & Pumpkin Bagels with Pumpkin Cream Cheese
I was really excited to try Bruegger’s new Fall bagel with the pumpkin cream cheese. I’ve never had pumpkin-flavored cream cheese before, so this was going to be a treat. Unfortunately, the Rochester location was all out of pumpkin bagels. I learned the best time to get the pumpkin bagels is in the morning or midday. So if you go, make sure you visit during one of these two times!
We did, however, get to try the pumpkin cream cheese. It was SO good! I ordered a french toast bagel for Zhen (age 3) and Zechariah (15 months) with pumpkin cream cheese. Of course, they kept licking the cream cheese off of the bagel. That’s how toddlers eat bagels, right? It wouldn’t be fun any other way. I encouraged them to eat the bagel with the cream cheese still on and they loved the bagel, too. Zhen kept trying to share her french toast bagel with everyone. It was really sweet.
The Herby Turkey Bagel Sandwich
Elijah ordered the Herby Turkey sandwich. Bruegger’s features their signature bagel sandwiches with meat and toppings on a fresh, baked bagel. Elijah really loved his bagel sandwich! He would have preferred it toasted, but he liked the sandwich cold, too. “I thought it was pretty good,” he said. “I usually don’t like cold sandwiches, but that one was surprisingly good!”
The Herby Turkey comes with roasted turkey, light herb garlic cream cheese (Yum!), sun-dried tomato spread, lettuce and red onion on a sesame bagel.Fall in love with Bruegger's Bagels New Fall Menu! Click To Tweet
Bruegger’s Bagels Route 66
I ordered the Bruegger’s Route 66 breakfast sandwich. Delicious! The bagel sandwich came with egg, bacon, and cheese served on a toasted French Toast bagel. The spicy Sriracha maple syrup was a great addition to the sandwich. I loved how the spiciness blended in with the sweetness of the french toast bagel. The Route 66 was very filling. I am so glad, too, because we got stuck in traffic after leaving Bruegger’s. There’s nothing worse than being stuck in traffic on an empty stomach.
Michala ordered a sweet treat for her snack. She picked out the marshmallow treat and ordered a Sprite to drink. Zhen was eyeing that marshmallow treat, though. She kept trying to get a bite of it. Elijah told her, “You already have a treat, Zhen! It’s a french toast bagel.”Pumpkin cream cheese? Yes, please! #BrueggersBagels Click To Tweet
- All bagels are freshly baked at Brueggers! I have to admit I was really surprised about this. I love restaurants and stores that bake their own bread. It tastes so much better when it’s freshly made.
- Bruegger’s Bagels offers free WiFi to their customers. This was perfect for my teenage daughter who was eager to share a pic of her treat on Instagram.
- You can buy Bruegger’s signature cream cheese. They offer many different flavors including the pumpkin cream cheese.
- Fresh coffee and hot chocolate is another great menu option. Elijah ordered a hot chocolate and he said it was really good!
- Naked Juice is also sold at Bruegger’s. We love Naked Juice! I like to buy a pint of Naked Juice for my little ones and make smoothies with them. So Zhen was excited when I bought her the Mighty Mango Naked Juice.
Just an FYI, if you want your bagel toasted, make sure you ask first. I learned this after ordering the french toast bagel. But it was no worries, the server was happy to toast my bagel after I asked.
We loved our visit to Bruegger’s Bagels! We will definitely visit the restaurant again. Next time, I’ll get there a little early so I can try that new pumpkin bagel.
Visit Bruegger’s Bagels website for a location near you! And many thanks to Bruegger’s Bagels for inviting my family and I to try their new Fall menu!
