#FridayVibes 4.12.19

What up doe. Happy Friday!

This has been an off week for me because Zephaniah, my youngest baby, has been sick most of the week. I think the sudden weather change from warm to cold got the best of him.

Thankfully, a lot of rest and love from Mommy and Daddy are helping my little guy get better.

Hope your week was a good one and you’re not fighting any spring colds!

Here are two highlights from the week:

  • My Thoughts on Nipsey Hussle’s Celebration of Life
  • Herbie Hancock and Kamasi Washington Will Perform at The Aretha This Summer

NIPSEY HUSSLE’S CELEBRATION OF LIFE

On Thursday, April 11th, the Celebration of Life memorial service was held for the late rapper and community activist Ermias Davidson Ashgedom, also known as Nipsey Hussle. The memorial service was held at The Staple Center in Los Angeles, California.

Did you get a chance to watch it yet? I watched it as it was airing live on CBS. I thought it was a very touching ceremony and it was heartbreaking to watch as Nipsey’s parents, partner Lauren London, children, family, and close friends paid tribute to him.

I got teary-eyed when Nipsey’s children were brought on stage to share their thoughts and pay tribute to their father. It hurts my heart to know his young children have lost their father.

I can’t even begin to imagine Lauren London’s pain and Nipsey’s parents’ pain. I loved what Nipsey’s mother had to say. Lauren London gave me something to really think about with my own marriage. It made me think about how I can focus more on experiencing my husband and not take our time together for granted.

I offer my condolences to Nipsey Hussle’s family, friends, and loved ones and all who are hurting at this time. Rest in peace and #TheMarathonContinues!
