What are your Plans for Halloween?

If you’re looking for a fun Halloween event to go to in Detroit, you should bring your family to Goodwill’s Halloween fun fest!

I was happy to learn that Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit is hosting a family-friendly Halloween event next week. The event is called BOO-Fest and it is open to the public.

Last week, I spoke with Jessica McCall, Goodwill’s Vice President of Marketing and External Affairs, and she told me all about BOO-Fest.

BOO-Fest is a Fun, Halloween Event for the Whole Family!

Goodwill will host BOO-Fest on Tuesday, October 31st at their Detroit location from 5 – 8 P.M. The event will be held in the parking lot and MotorCity Casino is providing complimentary parking for guests.

BOO-Fest is free and open to the public!

“Goodwill decided to do Boo-Fest in response to the mayor’s call to bring fun back to Halloween for Detroit’s children and families,” McCall told me during our phone interview.

McCall said Goodwill wanted to “give the community an opportunity to be out on Halloween.” You can find out more information about it here.

Free Food, Spooky Games, and Fun Costumes

BOO-Fest will have free food for visitors, too, so come hungry! The fun festival will feature food trucks, spooky games, treats for the kids, face painting, and arts and crafts. Goodwill staff and volunteers will also be dressed in costumes handing out treats to the kids so don’t forget your Halloween bag to collect your treats!

And if you’re still looking for fun costumes to wear, I have two blog posts with a fun DIY costume idea for couples and cool costumes from Target for kids.

Happy Halloween!
