Special Edition 2017 Our Issue Mural T-shirt by Sydney G. James and AskewOne
Yesterday it was announced former Detroit Lions Linebacker DeAndre Levy and his wife Desire Vincent Levy along with Detroit Hustles Harder partnered together for the third edition of the cause-related t-shirt line, Our Issue.
The special edition t-shirt is a 2017 Our Issue Mural by Sydney G. James and AskewOne. All proceeds from the shirts will benefit Enough SAID, Wayne County SAFE, and the SASHA Center to support the ongoing effort of investigating the backlog of rape kits in Detroit.
The money raised will also help provide direct services and care to rape survivors. All of the proceeds will be matched up to $25,000.
On Our Issue supporting this great cause, DeAndre Levy said:
“Our Issue is dedicated to the multitude of women I know and love, and the ones that I don’t know that have the unfortunate experience of sexual violence,” said DeAndre. “As men, and as a society, we owe them more and need to take ownership of the role we play in supporting the culture that makes excuses for rape, harassment, and all forms of violence against women and girls.”
“As a survivor myself, I am thankful to and for the brave Detroit leaders like the SASHA Center, Wayne County SAFE, and Enough SAID that commit their time, energy, and resources to providing services for victims, advocate for policy, and affirm the voices and experiences of survivors every day,” said Desire. “They are heroes amongst us.”
If you’d like to purchase the 2017 Our Issue Mural t-shirt, you can get it here for $45. There are 3 different shirt styles available.
