This morning I was on ABC 7 WXYZ Detroit sharing stocking stuffer ideas and ways you can save money on stocking stuffers! (You can watch the video of the segment down below.) It was such an exciting opportunity and I was very happy to do the TV segment.

The “Stocking Stuffer Ideas” TV segment was a collaboration I did with TopCashback.com – a cashback website which gives ALL of the store’s commission rate back to you the customer.

Zhen helped me sort through the stocking stuffers for my “Stocking Stuffer Ideas” TV Segment on ABC 7 WXYZ Detroit. She’s such a big helper! 🙂

Everyone loves a Christmas stocking and they are an integral part of the holiday season; however, they are often overlooked. This year, stuff your stockings with awesome items that won’t break the bank!

If you’re looking for great ways to save on your holiday stocking stuffer ideas, then check out Good Life Detroit and TopCashback.com’s list of ways you can save big this holiday season!

1. Research deals.

To score the best deal, search various retailers to see where you can catch the best deal. For example, Walmart might have the best deal on small items, but CVS may offer the better deal with sales on sales on stocking stuffers.

I recommend researching sale ads in your local Sunday paper and also researching sales online. Make a list of which stores to go to for the best deals. This way you won’t be wandering aimlessly through the stores searching for stocking stuffers. You can get to the store, get what you need, and get out before you spend too much money. (Hello, Target! The place where I always end up getting way more than I planned. Haha!)

2. Bundle coupons and savings.

The easiest and most efficient way to save money is to stack deals, coupons and shop via cashback sites such as TopCashback.com. They have a variety of popular retailers such as Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Toys R Us, Walmart, Target, and more.

TopCashback.com is the most generous cashback/rebates site in the U.S. Most cashback sites will give a fraction of this commission back to you, but TopCashback is the ONLY site that returns 100% of the commission back to shoppers as a cashback rebate.

3. Utilize credit card reward points.

Check your forgotten credit card reward points and cash in for a gift card as a present or to a retailer to purchase gifts or stocking stuffers. It may not be considered saving but it feels like free money!

Gift cards make a great holiday gift for stocking stuffers. Last Christmas, Travis and I bought two gift certificates to a comic book store for the teens. We used them as their stocking stuffers and they loved them!

4. Consider out-of-the-box ideas.

Rather than spending money on toothbrushes and candy, fill stockings with items that will get your family excited. Consider purchasing gift sets with multiple items inside and spread them out into different stockings!

Like this Trolls’ nail polish gift set from Amazon Prime – it features 18 different colors. You could split up the bottles of nail polish to give to more than one girl in the family instead of gifting the entire box set to one person.

5. Find the bargain section at the store.

Finding the bargain section at the store is another great way to save money on stocking stuffers. Target’s Dollar Spot is my favorite go-to bargain section for birthday goodie bags, prizes for the kids, and Christmas stocking stuffers.

The price is always low, between $1 and $5, and Target features the coolest products. Plus, they rotate their product regularly so the same items aren’t featured for long periods of time.

You don’t have to spend a lot of money when shopping for stocking stuffers. These items featured in the photo didn’t cost over $15!

Here Are a Few Stocking Stuffer Ideas You Might Like

For Men: This Stetson Men’s Cologne Gift Set, similar to the one in my photo above, will make a great stocking stuffer because it’s small and lightweight. Remember, you don’t want to weigh down your Christmas stockings with heavy items or the stocking will fall and possibly tear.

For Women or Teen Girls: A sweet body mist scent are good stocking stuffers because they come in small sizes and she can carry it in her purse or bag. Like this “Tarte Sugar Rush Body Mist” from Ulta for only $19.

For Teen Boys: I love the fun socks for stocking stuffers. It’s a sure way to make someone laugh and also have fun with their fashion style. These similar men’s 12 Days of Socks, Christmas Socks at Target are only $15!

For the Whole Family: And don’t forget to add fun-themed candy to your stocking stuffers! I bought all of my family’s holiday candy at Target.

  • I found Swiss Miss Mint Chocolate hot cocoa for only $1. Travis LOVES mint so I know he’s going to love it. Other holiday treats I bought are:
  • Candy-filled candy canes for under $2
  • peppermint candy canes (because a stocking is not complete without them!)
  • Chocolate holiday candies – like this Ghirardelli Christmas collection of assorted chocolates are sure to be a favorite treat. They’re on sale for $5.99 at Target.

These cute socks are from DeadSoxy.

Honorable Mention: DeadSoxy Socks

This is a great company which makes socks for the person who likes to add a little vibrancy to their wardrobe. The socks are soft and really great for when you want to switch out your boring plain-colored socks for something funky and fun.

The designs are unique and hip. Michala really loves socks with different styles so these pair of DeadSoxy socks are perfect for a stocking stuffer for her! DeadSoxy socks also feature socks for men in many different styles. You can check them out here.
