It’s been a busy week with the start of the new fall school season. I had an entire week of blog posts planned, but I just didn’t have the time to finalize my drafts.
Still trying to do all the things! But this summer, I worked hard on a BIG mind shift to GO SLOW and live more mindfully. It has made all the difference in my life.
More on that in a later post.
I knew September was going to start off at a fast pace with a full homeschool schedule for the kids, so over the summer, I prepared for our fall school season a couple of months early.
It made this week a little easier and starting a full-time school schedule didn’t feel overwhelming to us. Just busy.

We actually do year-round school, taking breaks as needed. This summer, we had a light school schedule. We had school three days a week and we focused on a lot of language arts, math, and reading.
Our year-round schedule also helps us work on subjects in a block schedule. I’ll have to share sometime in the coming months what our homeschool schedule looks like.
Before the Labor Day holiday, we took two weeks off from our school schedule to rest and get ready for our fall school season.
Just like most public-school students, we started our fall school term the day after Labor Day.
So, this week has been busy, busy. And I’m tired, tired– but I sure do feel proud of the productive week we’ve had. This weekend of rest will feel refreshing after the lively week we’ve had.

I honestly didn’t intend to write about our homeschool schedule or back-to-school week.
I had just wanted to share a few photos from the summer when we stopped at The Telway one day for a quick lunch!
If you’re kids started back to school this week (college, high school, middle school, elementary school) or if you’re just starting a new schedule for the fall, I hope it’s been a good one and you’re able to take time to rest. xoxo
