Last week, I attended 313 in the D– Matrix Human Services’ annual summer fundraiser– and you guys…it was my first Detroit rooftop party!

My friend Becky (co-founder and co-host of The D Brief) invited Travis and me to Matrix’s party. Most importantly, though, the event was all for a good cause: to support the Osborn Neighborhood in Detroit.

Outfit: Forever21 dress and Nike Air Force 1 sneakers (so comfy!)

I decided to go to the party solo because my three little ones really wanted to go play outside at the park. Travis was very kind to drop me off at the party and take our little bunch to play at their favorite playground on Belle Isle. (So sweet!)

313 IN THE D AND BEAUTIFUL ROOFTOP VIEWS OF THE CITY

The 313 in the D fundraiser was held at 3Fifty Terrace, which is located inside of the Detroit Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts– seven stories above the Music Hall to be exact!

Have you been to 3Fifty Terrace yet? It’s a pretty popular rooftop in Downtown Detroit. The nightclub is known for its hip entertainment and nightlife scene.

The rooftop season is from May to the end of September if you ever want to check it out sometime. I recommend you visit at least once in the summertime because the view of the city is just gorgeous!

The Spirit of Detroit Award is a special honor for a person or organization to receive. The award recognizes their outstanding achievement and service to the citizens of Detroit.

The entire MHS team were so excited and grateful to receive the award. Through tears of joy, Becky said the award was a happy surprise for her because she didn’t even know they were going to receive the award. It was a really heartfelt moment to see the joy on everyone’s faces.

Congratulations to you Matrix Human Services and Becky!

It was exciting to attend 313 in the D and learn more about the community work MHS does in Detroit. I’m looking forward to connecting more with Matrix Human Services to share more of their stories with you.

Special thanks to Becky Scarcello and Matrix Human Services for inviting me to the 313 in the D fundraiser event!
