A couple of weeks ago, Michala and I went out for dinner and a movie. We hadn’t had a girls day in a while since I had the baby so getting out with my girl was a nice treat.

Being a mom of five, I try to reserve some one-on-one time with each of my children. It gives the kids a chance to hang out with only me and not have to compete for my attention. If you’re a parent with more than one child, then you know what I’m talking about! 🙂 Sometimes it’s just nice to spend a little time with Mom on your own, ya know?

Before heading to the movie, we had visited The Good Shop pop-up at Cass Cafe in Downtown Detroit. By the time we were done with the pop-up shop, we were pretty hungry and really looking forward to dinner. Thankfully, we didn’t have to worry about stopping at a restaurant before the movie because we were going to have our dinner while watching the movie at the movie theater!

Where they do that at? Eating dinner at a movie theater while you watch the movie?

Two words: Emagine Theatres. Okay, make that four words: Emagine Theatres Royal Oak.

Emagine Theatres in Royal Oak is featuring a new experience for movie lovers.

It’s called “Dine ‘N’ View, and let me tell you, Michala and I absolutely love it!

What We Love About Dine ‘N’ View

Delicious Food

I ordered hot wings, slider cheeseburgers, and french fries, while Michala ordered popcorn shrimp and fries. I was VERY impressed with the hot wings. I am a BIG fan of wings so I know all about how hot wings are supposed to taste. I was first introduced to hot wings in Atlanta, and in the South, wings are everythang!

So I’m telling you guys, these hot wings from Emagine were on point!

Emagine offers a full-service restaurant experience for guests. Menu options range from the traditional movie snacks of popcorn and candy to dinner options like pepperoni pizza and turkey burger sliders. More about the food options later.

Comfy Chairs

We love the seating at Emagine! The seats recline so it reminds you of relaxing at home. There’s also a little TV table where you can place your food and a cupholder for your drink. Michala and I were both very comfortable throughout the entire movie.

Friendly Service

The servers at Emagine are very friendly and helpful. I had a few questions about the menu and our server was willing to answer all of our questions. We also received our food order in a timely manner.

I really enjoyed my visit to Emagine Theatre Royal Oak’s Dine ‘N’ View!

A few tips to help you with your movie experience

  • When ordering your food, use the server indicator light to request service. The server(s) will see your light turned on during the movie so he/she knows to come to your seat.
  • Keep your bags and personal items clear from the aisle so the server doesn’t trip. It’s pretty dark in the movie theatre and you don’t want your server to get hurt. 🙂
  • Dine ‘N’ View is offered only at Emagine Royal Oak in auditorium #10.
  • Tickets are standard prices varying by day, age, and seat type.
  • Meal prices are separate from the movie ticket prices.
  • Emagine recommends guests arrive approximately thirty minutes before the movie showtime to allow enough time to order food.
