We’ve been getting ready for Father’s Day and the kids decided they wanted to make their own Father’s Day craft for Travis.

I came up with a creative idea for them to make a DIY Father’s Day card with felt pictures and cheesy expressions. Travis is known for telling his corny dad jokes (LOL!) so these silly Father’s Day greetings are perfect for him.

If you don’t have any poster board available, then you can also use construction paper for your Father’s Day cards.

DIRECTIONS FOR MAKING YOUR DIY FATHER’S DAY CARDS

For each card design, I sketched the shapes onto a felt sheet. It’s really easy to do! I recommend using a black pen or a sharpie because a pencil is hard to draw onto the felt.

Select the color of the felt sheets you would like to use. You can get felt sheets really cheap at your local craft store or Walmart. They’re usually between 20 – 35 cents, depending on the color and design.

You’re an eggcellent dad!

After I drew the shapes and cut them out, I used my glue gun to attach them to the cards. Since my boys are too little to use a glue gun, I did this for them.

Zhen, however, knows how to safely use a glue gun so I let her do it herself while I supervised.

**Remember, the glue gun gets very hot so proceed with caution.**

For the boys, I wrote the Father’s Day greetings onto their cards and then I let them draw on the inside of their cards. Zhen is old enough to write so she wrote her own greeting.

HOW TO FIND PUNNY FATHER’S DAY CARD GREETINGS

One way to create your own punny Father’s Day greetings is to think of Valentine’s Day. Punny greetings are always very popular for Valentine’s Day cards.

If you can’t think of a punny greeting to put on your Father’s Day cards, then I recommend using Google or Pinterest to find expressions your kids will like.

I used Google to find inspiration for our punny food greetings for our Father’s Day cards.

Update: Travis loved the kids’ Father’s Day cards! He chuckled at the puns we created and said, “I always love a good, corny joke.” LOL! 🙂
