The Fifteen Seconds Event is Coming to Detroit + Get 50% Off Your Tickets!

Known as Europe’s leading interdisciplinary business festival, Fifteen Seconds is making a special trip to Detroit for the first time! The business conference is a 2-day experience designed to make you grow and unleash your creativity.

Here are the panelists who will give talks at the Detroit event:

Gelong Thubten, Buddhist Monk & Author

Gelong is a Buddhist monk who teaches meditation and specialises in providing non-religious mindfulness workshops and training programmes for businesses and organisations. Since 1993, he has been a monk at Kagyu Samye Ling Tibetan Buddhist Monastery, has trained under some of the world’s most accomplished teachers of meditation, and has spent over five years in intensive meditation retreats.

Gelong has taught mindfulness at major global companies and organisations, including Google, LindkedIn, Siemens, Deutsche Bank, HSBC, Lloyds Bank and Clifford Chance, his work has also been featured in the Times, Guardian newspapers and on the BBC and ITV. He is also pioneering a mindfulness training programme for medical students in Ireland, and he teaches in many schools, as well as hospitals, prisonsEurope’sand other organisations.

Ellen Petry Leanse, Neuroscience Educator at Stanford University

Leadership coach and tech pioneer Ellen has spent 35 years working with extraordinary leaders at Apple, Google, Facebook, as an entrepreneur, and with dozens of startups. An author, Stanford instructor, and Europe’s Silicon Valley influencer, she is passionate about intentional living and how our brains can shape or interfere with our sense of purpose. She’s been featured on CNN, the BBC, and in publications including Inc. Magazine, Time, The New York Times, Forbes, and Business Insider, where her essay on the world “Just” has received nearly five million views. Ellen’s book “The Happiness Hack”, a guide to the brain and how to use it to increase life satisfaction, launched in November 2017.

Stephen Gates, Head of Design Transformation InVision

Stephen is the son of a Creative Director and has over 20 years of experience in creating the strategy, concepting, and design for award-winning integrated global advertising campaigns. He built multiple global Fortune 100 brands and a wide range of innovative digital experiences.

As a result of his work, he has won over 150 international design awards and has been asked to work as a partner with brands like Apple, Google, IBM, 53, InVision, Adobe, and others. Apple has featured his work in ten keynotes, four TV commercials, the Human Interface Guidelines, iTunes App Store, Apple Stores, and more.

Roslyn Johnson-Karamoko, Founder & CEO of Detroit is the New Black

Originally from Seattle, WA, Roslyn moved to Detroit in 2013 after stints in Washington D.C., New YorkEurope’sand Singapore. She spent the early part of her career as a buyer for Saks Fifth Avenue and was recruited by EU e-commerce giant Rocket Internet GMBH to head up the buying operations at their Southeast Asia based fashion e-commerce start-up.

Called “The Motor City’s Hottest Designer” by TIME Magazine, Roslyn is the brainchild behind Detroit’s premier label and concept shop Détroit is the New Black. Currently, the space serves as a retail incubator for local artists and small businesses in Detroit’s Downtown retail district.

Andrew Cross, Marketing Coordinator of MindGeek

Andrew is a writer and marketer from Montreal, with a focus Europe’s music, art, culture, and adult entertainment. Former copywriter at A.I. and music-tech rising star LANDR Audio, he’s now on the marketing team at Pornhub. His latest works include Hornhub, this year’s April Fool’s campaign, and Pornhub Premium Places. Andrew is also the founder and CEO of Mile End Jewelry.
