Happy Saturday! Check out these Detroit events happening this weekend: D-Town Farm’s 17th Annual Harvest Festival, DIY Street Fair, Funky Ferndale, Arts & Scraps “Health is Wealth” community event, and Native American Heritage Day. Event details are listed below.

Happy fall, y’all!

The fall is my favorite season (maybe because I’m a Scorpio), so I’m ready to dive into Michigan’s fall events.

What’s on your fall wish list?

I’m looking forward to visiting the apple orchard, hanging out a spooky event, sippin’ on hot apple cider, and attending a fun harvest festival.

D-TOWN FARMS HOST 17TH ANNUAL HARVEST FESTIVAL

Speaking of harvest festivals, D-Town Farm is hosting their 17th Annual Harvest Festival this weekend.

There’s going to be horseback riding, Ancestral Foodways Learnshop with The Joy Project, Seed Saving Learnshop by Zo, and so many more hands-on activities!

You’ve got TWO days to experience D-Town Farm’s Harvest Festival, so make sure you stop by sometime this weekend.

FERNDALE EVENTS ALL WEEKEND LONG!

Ferndale is also the place to be this weekend if you’re looking for free outdoor events because it’s time for the DIY Street Fair and Funky Ferndale Art Fair!

Enjoy live music, shop small businesses, add new art to your collection, and grab some grub from participating eateries.

And Little Amal, a 12-foot puppet of a 10-year-old Syrian refugee child, will be making an appearance at Funky Ferndale on Sunday, Sept. 24th at 3:30 p.m.

This wonderful traveling exhibition is part of a humanitarian effort to raise global awareness on the devastating violence and persecution many refugees, especially children, face during times of war.

Learn more about Little Amal here.

HEALTH IS WEALTH AT ARTS & SCRAPS

One of my favorite Detroit nonprofit’s Arts & Scraps is hosting a health and wellness event today. Stop by for yoga, healthy food options, and supportive information on mental health.

You can also shop in the community store for fun art supplies!

CELEBRATE NATIVE AMERICAN HERTIAGE DAY IN WESTLAND!

And lastly, Wayne County Parks and the North American Indian Association is hosting a Native American Heritage Day in Westland. There will be a Powwow dance contest and crafts for sale.

The weather is beautiful, so I hope you can make it to one or more of these community events! Check out the full event details below.

Have a joyous weekend! xoxo
