Guess this is the last time I’m going to wear my favorite vintage dress! Fall is officially here and that means no more summer styles.

Have you already packed away your summer clothes and pulled out your fall styles? Or did you go shopping for a new fall wardrobe?

I’ve been saving fall street style ideas to my Pinterest, so I have visual reminders on what styles to look for when I go shopping. For some reason I’m feeling a moody street style for the fall. Maybe it’s because I’m getting in the Halloween spirit because lately, I’ve been reading classic gothic fiction and listening to southern gothic music. (Maybe I’m just missing home in Tennessee?)

Anyway, all I want to wear this fall are my favorite pair of black skinny jeans, dark shirts, my jean jacket, and Vans sneakers. Oh, and my Timbs.

VINTAGE SUMMER DRESS STYLE

I have no idea what year my vintage summer dress is from. I just know I bought the dress at the thrift store a few years ago. I think when I was living in Tennessee.

It’s one of my favorite vintage dresses to wear in the spring and summer because of the cool blue and green colors.

It’s also very comfy and doesn’t make me feel hot and sticky in the heat.

ACCESSORIES DETAILS

I thrifted my jean jacket at The Salvation Army a few years ago, too. It’s my favorite jacket to wear no matter what the season is. Travis calls it my signature jacket because I pretty much wear it all of the time.

Two years ago, I started collecting pins to add to my jean jacket. And last year, I added a few patches to my jacket.

The patches were designed by Detroit artist Emery Jones. He creates wearable art and is often found at pop-ups at local businesses in the city. I need to hit him up for more customized patches and wearable art for the fall!

My earrings, necklace, and sunglasses (also my favorite thing to wear all of the time!) are from Mama Coo’s Boutique in Corktown Detroit.

And of course, I’m wearing my classic black Vans sneakers. Ever since I bought my first pair of customized Vans, the only sneakers I wear now are Vans Sk8-Hi (the high-tops). They’re very comfortable and my feet never hurt!

So, yes, I will miss wearing my favorite summer vintage dress, but I am also excited for fall styles!

As I’m getting more into sustainable living (and honestly, it’s what I can afford), I plan on thrifting the majority of my fall clothing. Seasonal capsule wardrobes are my favorite to create because (1) affordability, (2) sustainability, and (3) accessibility.

I like to shop at resale shops in the metro area– Style Encore, Mama Coo’s, Flamingo Vintage, and the good ol’ thrift store are my favorites. I got this dress at Flamingo Vintage earlier this year.

I’ll share a blog post soon on the fall styles I plan on wearing this autumn. xoxo

What’s a favorite summer style you are going to miss wearing?
