Do you like to get creative with your food?
Besides trying new foods, Travis and I also like to create new recipes. We take turns cooking: I cook Monday through Thursday, while he cooks Friday through Sunday. If he’s off for a holiday, he will cook or we cook together.
We both like to create our own recipes – sometimes from scratch and sometimes we find a recipe to add our own twist to it. We’ll find a recipe online and use it as our guide, substituting ingredients and seasonings in the original recipe for other ingredients we want to try.
When Travis cooks a meal, he will prepare a sample and ask me to try it to see what I think. I most always love his creations. If I don’t like the taste of one of his new recipes, then it’s a very likely he doesn’t like the taste of his creation, too.
I am grateful my husband loves to cook because 1) I don’t have to cook all of the time, and 2) he is a great cook! I have learned so much from Travis’ cooking skills – like creating my own recipes.
Creating My Own Zoodles Recipe with Man Cave Craft Eats Chicken Sausage
I decided to create a healthy and quick salad recipe with zoodles. Travis was so sweet to help me with my zoodles recipe.
Couples Tip: if you’re looking for something fun to do on Valentine’s Day, then you should plan a day or evening cooking together! It is so much fun and a great way to connect with your partner.
If you aren’t familiar with zoodles, don’t worry. I didn’t know what they were at first, either. I recently discovered zoodles a few months ago. Zucchini + Noodles = Zoodles!
Zoodles are simply long strands of zucchini which look like spiral pasta. It’s a great substitute for pasta! I already love zucchini, and I am a big pasta lover. Eating zoodles as a pasta-based meal or as a salad is a delicious and healthy alternative for me.
Here’s one zoodle-based recipe I created for lunch.
If you love zoodles, then I think you will like my zoodle salad recipe. It’s very easy to make and it doesn’t take very long to cook. I recommend my zoodle salad recipe for lunchtime at the office when you’re wanting something healthy and quick to make.
I combined zoodles with Man Cave Craft Eats’ Riesling, Kale, and Smoked Gouda Chicken Sausages to make a zoodle salad. I added mozzarella cheese and just a splash of Italian dressing to the salad. It was very tasty!
Here’s what you’ll need:
Spiralizer (ON SALE $31.99 at Target!)
Ingredients:
2 zucchinis
1 pack of Man Cave Craft Eats’ Riesling, Kale, and Smoked Gouda Chicken Sausages
Olive Oil
Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
Dash of pepper
Italian Dressing
Directions:
1. Using your spiralizer, take one zucchini at a time to make spiralized zoodles.
2. Preheat pan with the desired amount of olive oil.
3. Cook your Man Cave Craft Eats’ Riesling, Kale, and Smoked Gouda Chicken Sausages in the pan.
4. After the sausages have cooked and cooled, cut the sausages into small chunks.
5. Mix the cut chicken sausages with the zoodles.
6. Add a dash of pepper and a splash of Italian dressing to the salad. Note – you can substitute the Italian dressing for any dressing you like.
The zoodle salad is also just as good without salad dressing as it is with dressing! If you try my recipe, make sure you let me know what you think! I’d love to hear your thoughts on it. 🙂
