Did you go to Eastern Market After Dark (EMAD)?
It’s one of my favorite Detroit summer events! I always say Eastern Market After Dark feels like an end of summer celebration because it usually happens a week or two before the first day of fall.
And SO MANY people from Detroit and the metro area come out to this event! According to Eastern Market’s website, over 30,000 people attended last year’s event. Wow!
I had so much fun at EMAD 2023 catching up with friends, browsing products from small business vendors, checking out the art installations (part of Design Core Detroit’s Month of Design), and dancing to music.
Here are the photos I took at Eastern Market After Dark.
WHAT I WORE TO EASTERN MARKET AFTER DARK
This year, I decided to dress up a little. I thrifted a black faux leather skirt ($4 at Salvation Army!) and wore it with a dressy black tank top, black fishnet tights, and my hot pink Doc Marten boots.
My beautiful red earrings were gifted to me from very talented Detroit artist (and dancer!) Aurora.
I didn’t realize this until the day after the event, but I completely forgot to take pictures of the event details. I did get some video footage, but honestly, I was too busy having fun and talking with friends!
My friend Colin was at Eastern Market After Dark selling his brand’s cool Detroit-themed tees and his books.
Check out his work on Instagram, too. He makes fun, interesting videos about cool places in Detroit!
