Here are four fall races coming up in October (…which starts this Friday! Can you believe it?!). Race for the Cure and LUNG FORCE Walk are happening this weekend, while the inaugural Run the D will be next Saturday.

SUSAN G. KOMEN RACE FOR THE CURE
WHEN: October 2, 2021
WHERE: Milliken State Park, 1900 Atwater St., Detroit 48207
TIME: The opening ceremony starts at 8 a.m. and the race will begin at 9 a.m.

LUNG FORCE WALK
WHEN: October 3, 2021
WHERE: Detroit Zoo, 8450 W. 10Mile Rd., Royal Oak 48067
TIME: 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Come out this weekend to support the Lung Association’s efforts to end lung cancer and lung disease. LUNG FORCE Walk will also support the Lung Associations COVID-19 Action Initiative.

RUN THE D WITH DPD & DMC
WHEN: October 9, 2021
WHERE: Brush Mall (DMC Campus), 3990 John R. St., Detroit 48201
TIME: Registration starts at 8 a.m. and the race will begin at 9 a.m.
COST: $40 (includes race t-shirt and medal)
Join the Detroit Police Department, Detroit Public Safety Foundation, and Detroit Medical Center for Run the D with DPD & DMC 5K Race.
The race is open to runners and walkers of all abilities. Cadets in the Detroit Police Department Training Academy will help lead the race and Detroit Police Chief James E. White will also participate in the 5K.

HOT CIDER HUSTLE
WHEN: October 31, 2021
WHERE: Lake St. Clair Metropark, 31300 Metro Pkwy, Harrison Township 48045
TIME: Packet pick-up is from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. and the race will begin at 8:30 a.m.

Here’s a fun way to start your Halloween day and run for a good cause! You can also participate virtually if you like.
There will be a 15K and 5K Run/Walk at Hot Cider Hustle. Participants will also get apple cider and caramel apples once they complete the race.
