Place: The parade starts at Kirby & Woodward and it will end at Congress & Woodward. If you need an address reference point for your GPS, then enter the address for the Detroit Institute of Arts on Woodward Ave.

Keep in mind, you can pick a place to watch the parade all along Woodward Ave starting at Kirby & Woodward and ending at Congress & Woodward. (We usually like to watch the parade in the Campus Martius area.)

Event Summary: The 97th Annual Detroit Thanksgiving Parade (officially called America’s Thanksgiving Parade® presented by Gardner White) is a big holiday tradition in the D!

Sure, it can be really cold out (sometimes may even snow a little depending on the year), but I think the parade is something everyone should experience in person at least once in their life!

My kids LOVE going to the parade! We’ve made it a family holiday tradition. It’s free, and it’s a great way to kick off your holiday season.
